Hey Mom and Dad So what an interesting week it has been. So Elder Madsen and I have been able to go out an teach quite a bit this week! We have a baptism coming up this weekend which is exciting. His name is Joel, and we've been teaching him for about 3 weeks now. He's a stud! So humble and just loving the church and it's teachings! So thats real exciting stuff for him! I'll send pics next week. Elder Madsen is still unwell though. He has been doing his best to work with it and all, he's trying hard! I'm hoping he gets better soon though! I and the other elders have been doing our best to keep him positive and serve him the best we can. I've been well though. Our water finally is working again haha! It has been off the past week and a half which has been interesting. It's always fun walking down the road with buckets and paying like 20 cents (50 pesewas) to fill em up! Its been good though. The ward is great and the members are doing awesome. Church yesterday was real fun. The Relief Society has an anniversary celebration and they bought a bunch of food. And yeah, because we are missionaries we are always invited by them to come and enjoy it the food hahah. One of the perks of being a missionary hey! lol! Hoping to see how this weeks goes though. There were some transfers made last night. Our district leader was transferred and made a Zone Leader in another area, so I was assigned as the new District Leader. The joy of doing weekly call ins and summary reports haha! It seems I might spend almost a year in Nungua! Keep Elder Madsen in your guys prayers though! I'm doing well though, happy and healthy as always! Hope you guys are well though! Have an awesome week! Love yas! Elder Fesolai

Hey Mom and Dad, So sorry the email is a day late! Yesterday we were so privileged to hear from Elder Ronald.A.Rasband from the Quorum of the 12! It was really really awesome since there was only like 200 of us missionaries there with him, so he walked around spoke to us, and asked and answered plenty of questions! The spirit was so strong and I was able to learn alot from what he had to say to us! He spoke alot about missionary work and how great a calling it is to serve as a full time missionary! It really is great to be able to be out here serving! President Heid and the Mission President from the Accra West Mission was there along with the whole Area Presidency so many great talks were given and we received plenty of wonderful instruction and council from them and the spirit was so strong! The past week has been okay though. Elder Madsen hasnt been in too good shape! We went to the hospital and had to stay at the apartment a few days. He is on the mend and doing better though! Keep him in your prayers, he's a trooper! I've been blessed with no sicknesses so far...lol! I'd love to share a thought that Elder Rasband shared with us yesterday that I loved so much since it has been something I've really come to do and see how true it is! He said : "When we come to learn more about the Savior, we are then able to love him more." I know that this is so true! When we come to know Christ more deeply, we will love him more and it will show most importantly in our actions! We will strive to do better at keeping the commandments, our covenants, saying our prayers and reading the scriptures! Teaching someone about Christ and learning about him will change behavior quicker and more effectively than teaching and learning about Behavior. And I can testify that this is so true! I'n the 8 months I've been out, I've come to know my Savior so much more. More about his Atonement, more about his Earthly Ministry but what I love most is the kind of person he is. All these wonderful things he done because he loved us, but most importantly he loved the Father, and he done his will! This has really helped me to like Christ says in the Book of Mormon, "Offer unto him a broken heart and a contrite Spirit". To sacrifice what I want to what the Lord wants! And I couldn't be any more happier!!! I know this is a promise that we will receive...peace, joy and happiness! I'm looking forward to this upcoming week though. We currently are in week 5 of transfer and have 2 more weeks left. So we will see what happens then! We have alot of teaching and catching up to do with alot of people though, so it will surely be a busy week indeed! Nothing we cannot handle though! Thanks for everything you do though Mom and Dad! Words cant express how much I love you both! I hope you's have an awesome week! Love you's! Elder Fesolai Hey Mom and Dad, Wow, so what a wonderful week it has been! Proselyting back in the old ward area is just so great! Elder Madsen and I have been having a heap of fun, teaching, finding and learning some of the new areas in the ward. We get along really really well! So we have started teaching this guy named Joel, who has traveled to Ghana from Nigeria and came to church as his brother was a member. All I can say is wow, this guy has been prepared by the Lord! I feel like I write this almost every other week, but we have been just coming across so many people who have just been prepared and are waiting to hear the Gospel. He told us how he felt the first time he was at the chapel during Sacrament, and said that he knew it was the Lord's church once again on the earth, after we had finished teaching him the message of the Restoration. Just an over all A1 kind of guy! He's preparing to be baptized on the 26th of March! Found out some pretty exciting news during the week too. Elder Rasband from the quorum of the 12 is coming to talk to all the missionaries in Accra. So that is going to be really really good I think! That will be happening next week Monday. So our P-day next week will be on a Tuesday! Keen to see how that all goes! This week though, we really have just been doing ALOT of finding and contacting! It has been fun, and pretty tiring! We done quite alot of walking to see the new area, but looked for every opportunity to serve those around us. That always makes them smile and open up! It also makes you feel awesome since it is really our Father in Heaven you are serving! Being a missionary is so great! This Saturday one of Winborg and I's investigator Kinglsey got baptised which was so so awesome! He was so stoked that day aswell! BEcause of the transfer, I didnt get to teach him his last week, but the 4 weeks while I was in ward 3, he was one of our greatest guys to teach! So humble, and willing to change his will to the will of Gods! Elder Madsen and I also has a baptism on Sunday for one of the boys in the ward I was teaching in ward before the ward split. The sisters never got around to teaching him, so we finished teaching him, and he was so ready! Nungua has been great though. Alot of members are calling me the King or Chief of Nungua since I've been here so long haha. It's good to be back though! We have already been invited for FM's during the week by so many members this past Sunday, so it will be good to catch up with them all! Our members are just so loving, and love taking us missionaries into their homes! We have been working alot with our new ward mission leader too. This guy Bro. Eric has only been a member for a year and a half but he is so determined and willing to do missionary work! Such a wonderful guy with a burning desire to magnify his calling! We went out teaching with him on Saturday, and it has been awesome teaching with him! That's kind of it for this week though Mom and Dad! I'm really looking forward to seeing what this upcoming week brings! I hope you are all well! Elder Madsen and I are doing good, no sickness either lol! I hope you's have a wondeful week! Love you's! Till next week! x Elder Fesolai So here are some pics from the week with the baptism with Kinglsey and Jnr (Naomis Son) and Kelvin and his Sis Atoinette with Madsen and I.
What I eat every morning if its not eggs. Coco and Akala! Its like a ginger porridge and fried beans thingo...Its nice!!! Morning Mom and Dad, So! This past week has been quite a mix up! Some unfortunate things happened and so some emergency transfers took place during the week! On Wednesday we got a call from the Sisters that someone was trying to break into their apartment, it was about 1am. So It has been a re-occurring problem, so we went and tried to find the guys but nothing. So President concluded that he wanted them put into a safer area, so 4 new Elders replaced them and so to ensure no white washing happened, we all got new companions and I'm now back in Ward 1. We are now staying at the apartment where the sisters were staying previously. So was interesting! My new companion is Elder Madsen, he's from America, Idaho but he just finished his training and hes super cool! We get along perfectly! I think it one of those comps where you just click. Elder WInborg and his companion are in the same apartment as us though, they stayed in ward 3 though. So Ward 3 members were guttered I left, but Ward 1 rejoiced I'm back haha. It was upsetting though, there are alot of families who I will miss seeing everyday, as we are now proselyting a new area. No more seeing Obed too, Naomi was guttered! We're going to see them this week though. It all part of mission life though! I'm looking forward to the upcoming weeks though, there are some investigators the sisters were teaching in Ward 1 we are now preparing for baptism. In 2 weeks there should be about 2 or 3! The week has been really jumbly though. We had some really great lessons during the week with some people, but I wont get to teach them again. Elder Winborg and I were teaching this one guy, Fred about the Restoration, and he asked the question concerning if there really only is 1 true church on the earth. Poor guy, such a great great man, just confused by some doctrines in the many churches he attended. He was so determined to challenge God and pray about the truth though. He's reading the Book of Mormon too. The faith and determination of some people is just so reaL! I'm looking forward to this upcoming week proselyting in my older Area again with ELder Madsen though! It's gonna be pretty fun! Get to go teaching with Godwin and some of the RM's in the ward again! We are all well though, It's getting hotter and hotter every day! This SUnday we has a General Authority rock up! Was so random, It was ELder Curtis from the 1st Quorum of the 70. At first I thought he was an office senior couple, then one of the SIsters informed me who he was before he approached Elder Winborg and I...lucky haha! Him and his wife gave a great talk in sacrament though! Alot of it was about missionary work and the growth of the members in this part of the world. I hope you's are happy and well though! Nungua is good, maybe soon I will pass the chief title too my companion soon! Hope you's have a wonderful week though! IT's awesome you's are reading the Book of Mormon too! THat book contains so much power and truth which just brings familys together and helps us come to know Christ even more! Love you's though! xx Elder Fesolai So heres some pics from the week! Me and Obed and then with his other bro and sister, Jnr and Juliet.
One of the cutest little babies ever! Nathiria! And kind of what I eat everyday...Wache, plantain and sardines or whatever fish I can find haha |
