Hey Mom and Dad,
So this past week has been a really busy one. It didn't rain much at all this week, so Elder Bulunga and I were able to see and teach alot of people which was really nice! On the downside, not all of them turned out to be too serious when it came to keeping commitments. So we'll see how it all goes. On the upside, we still have 3 people progressing and preparing for baptism! We had some awesome lessons with Daniel, one of the guys we are teaching and he is really striving to keep his commitments. Wasn't able to make it church on Sunday because he had a wedding in the family to attend to. It's great to see the spirit working in him though. The other people we were teaching we decided to give some time before we seem them again! I guess they are not ready yet to receive the Gospel, but we can only do our best to help them and tell them the truth, the rest is up to them to ACT. I've been studying a bit about what I can do more to be more effective, to teach more clearly, to do all I can to help people see the truthfulness of the message we bring as missionaries! But I see that we have agency and we are free like it says in the scriptures to choose for ourselves...and so I guess we can only do our part in bringing them the message by the spirit. They need to open their heart! It is so important we too also use our agency given to us by God to act and do the things that he would have us do...even the small simple things bring to pass great things! This week though Elder Bulunga and I have planned to spend alot of time finding people to teach! We plan to take out one of the member which should be fun though and help us find people! It will be a great week as long as the rain holds out! We are well though! It's been hot during the days and cooling right down in the evening which is some how nice! At night it's way too cold lol for us though! Hope you's are well though! Love and Miss you heaps Mom and Dad! Have an awesome week! Elder Fesolai

Hey Mom and Dad!
Another week is behind us, and it was a great one! It is still rainy season anyhow, an the rain is continually coming! We're still waiting for the sign or signal to build the ark...lol just kidding! We were able to go to the temple on Thusday night which was awesome! Kind of out of the blue, I got a call from our District leader Bulunga and I to pack and head down to Accra! It was sweet though. The temple is closing for cleaning soon, so President Heid is getting all the missionaries to go before that happens! I got to have an interview with Pres too which was great! He's a really awesome President and Leader to us missionaries! Elder Bulunga and I were able to have some great lessons during the week with our investigators though! They are preparing for baptism this July! Time has been going by so so fast, an I think it's because of all the work were trying to get done in the shot space of time we have! I'm still loving it nonetheless though! Church yesterday was awesome! I had to give a talk on the creation for 15-20 minutes, so I was really looking for topics and things to talk about relating to it! It all worked out though, being on mission has really helped when it comes to speaking about the Gospel! Attendance at church was a bit low, but alot of people have traveled so, thats how it is I guess! I love this quote from one of the General Authorities. I cant remember who it was but he said, concerning missionary work, we can not spark a fire in someone else's life unless we have one burning in our own. Being a missionary we are always doing our best to build our testimony and become more converted to the Lord so that we can have the power to help others do the same. I know this isnt just for us missionaries though! Its goes for everyone, and conversion is something that is so important for each and everyone of us to continually work on! Elder Bulunga and I are doing great though. I'm making the most of the rainy season...It's really cool in the night which is nice! We have a lot to look forward to and get done this week though! I hope you' have an awesome week though! Love you heaps! Elder Fesolai Hey Mom and Dad,
Another busy, grindy week it has been! Yep, you can guess, it's still raining haha! A real blessing to the people and their crops, but it makes missionary work a little difficult here and there! People are out farming because of the rain, or in their homes which can make it difficult to see them! We still press on though! We've been seeing alot of our Recent converts though which has been good. Just keeping them strong and helping them with all we can! Had a funny experience with Linus (the guy on cruches) as we were reading from the B.o.M. He was just expressing so much interest and amazement whilst reading. I think if we all have a similar attitude to this guy we can take in so much more haha! It was cool to see from someone so new in the Gospel! Anyhow, Church yesterday was great! Was playing some hymns in sacrament that I didnt get to practice too much, so I was making mistakes lol...fail! Not too noticeable though haha! I taught youth again, thats always really fun! Have to speak again next Sunday too haha...I'm really loving the opportunities to get to give talks, it's pretty fun! Elder Bulunga and I are doing great though! Doing our best to dodge the rain when we can haha! Praying for it to cease during the meantime...it's been flooding in some areas which has been pretty crazy! All is well for the most part though! Anyway, thats kind of it for this week. A bit short, but till next week! Love yous! xx Elder Fesolai Hey Mom and Dad,
How is everything going back home? The work and all in Juapong is going pretty sweet! It is kind of difficult at times because of the weather. Now that were fully in the rainy season, grey clouds are around most days, and it's bucketing down with water! We still some how manage to find people to teach and see some our investigators though, so it's all fun! Worst that happens is getting drenched head to toe, and mud all in your shoes lol... I'm emailing on a Tuesday though because we had a massive multi zone activity close to Accra yesterday. We left Kpong around 6am to make it there at 9am. Kpong, Ho, Tema and Ashaiman zones all came and we just had like football, basketball and volleyball tournaments...was pretty sweet! Was able to catch up with Elder Winborg, Frandsen and a bunch of other missionaries I served with in the past! Finally got to catch up with and meet Elder Afoa too lol! We had a mini Zone Conference straight after the activity too, President Heid gave some council and instruction which was refreshing. Church yesterday was so so great though. Sundays are one of the highlights of my week every week. On Sunday it was really great to see one of our new investigators at church...His name is Daniel, and we had some really great, spirit filled lessons during the week. Was great to see him exercise his faith and agency in coming to church! I taught youth Sunday school and Elder Quorum which was fun and interesting. Elder Quorum Prez, assigned me last minute lol, but hey follow the spirit hey? We didnt have manuals either haha.... It's safe to say there is alot of work we need to get done though! Maybe other missionaries experience this when they approach their 1 year mark, but I've been feeling so tired everyday haha! Still, am doing my best though! Knowing that this work isnt mine, but the Lords drives me to be better today then I was yesterday, and to be better tomorrow than I am today! We are all well and happy though! Though the only thing is that I'm getting sick...of mangos lol! I guess I should just stop eating them...Everything is going awesome though! I'm really loving every single minute of my mission! Hope you's have a wonderful week! Love you's! Elder Fesolai The Picture is from our Multi Zone activity yesterday! With Elder Afoa and Kalolo Yo Mom and Dad!
How are you both? This past week for Elder Bulunga and I was really busy! There was so much to get done in so little time! A week really sometimes doesn't feel like enough time to reach all of our goals, but we somehow manage haha! As a result I guess by the time Sunday comes after church, you feel dead lol! All good though, we couldn't be happier! So I guess I'll start of with what is the freshest thing in my memory! And that was Yesterday! So Church yesterday was great. We again were able to see many of our investigators at church. I've been teaching the Youth Sunday school class to, so that was fun! I got the short end of the stick and had to speak last minute in sacrament too. Kinda expecting it every week now incase! After church though, we had 4 baptisms though which was really nice! The guy Linus who has the broken leg, a Lady named Doris, and her 2 daughters Grace and Belinda. They were referrals through one of the members. But wow, what a day it was. The branch is growing! Little by little, but as President Kassah likes to say, we are a small, big family in Juapong branch haha! I've really been enjoying the work though. I was reflecting on my mission so far since I'm coming up to the halfway mark soon, and as I've looked back, I really see how much the Lord has his hand in the work! Things that seemed like they were impossible to achieve or people who we thought wouldn't change were all resolved and achieved. I know it wasn't because of our efforts alone, but because of the Lord's support! The work is so so awesome, and I'm really really grateful to be out here! Still studying the Book of Mormon too! How are you's going with studying together? I really love the everyday revelations and answers from the scriptures! I know that the Standard works already contains answers to many questions, concerns and problems that can and will arise in our lives, and if we dont search them we cant receive those answers lol! Really looking forward to seeing how this week goes though! One of my recent converts in Nungua called us the other day and gave us a referral! Asked us to teach their sister who lives in Juapong! So I'm really excited to meet and teach her this week with Elder Bulunga! Hope you's have a wonderful week though Mom and Dad! We are both doing fine, and are happy and healthy! I've really been blessed with health and strength out here, havnt been sick yet!...nek minnut lol fail! Love you's though! till next week! Elder Fesolai So I finally got around to taking some pictures! I guess I forgot I had a camera for a few weeks/days or however long it's taken me to send some quality pictures lol....Anyway here they are! Pic from the baptisms yesterday...was awesome! The selfie is with all the youth in the branch haha! I teach their class on Sundays, so that's really fun! The pics of the flood were from last week Monday here in Akosombo. We were trapped in the valley, the cars couldnt make it past the main road coz it was so flooded! Some pics from today! We were learning to cook some nice food with one of the members! Michael the masterchef lol...It was seriously nice though! Havnt enjoyed food that much since I left Nungua! The flies in the pan...well yeah the flies in the pan we ate lol...Bulunga was introducing me to some new foods...I felt like Bear Grylls to be honest. They didnt even taste bad though, he put garlic salt on it hahahah...but yeah Till next week hopefully? As the Ghanaians say when we extend commitments..."If god permits" lol...unserious people! |
