I woke up this morning to find we received another letter from Elder Fesolai. Here is what he wrote. So happy that he is settling in well and that he's excited to go out and do the work.
So were waiting for our physicals to be done so theyve let us on our emails! So my trainer is Elder Hatch. He's American, but ive met heaps of Elders from Ivory Coast, Ghana, South Africa! My first Area is near the beach about 40 mins east of Accra. I cant remember the name of the area right now! President Heid and his wife are great!
So today weve just been taking care of our residency forms and getting all that stuff sorted! We get nets at the apartments and ive been taking Doxycycline everyday. The mosquitos that hold malaria only come out at night. The people are so nice and friendly! Theyre pretty crackup too! Its really great here though! Its pretty similar to Bali in quite a few ways, has that same smell too lol!
Its not too hard to be clean aswell lol, its not like if got alot of clothes! Its pretty humid at the moment and apparently this is the cooler part of the year! Cant wait to see what its like when its really hot!
It was really great to hear from you's at the airport too! The flight from Amsterdam to here felt like forever. Was alright though. Tried to talk to the people we sat next to on the plane, but they were already of other faiths. Was able to learn some of the native dialects from them though.
I loved the scripture you shared in your email too dad! Marked that one in my scriptures. Thanks for the pic too. I was beginning to forget what yous sounded like until i called at the airport! I cant wait to get stuck into the work tomorrow though. Really really looking forward to it!
I hope you's (Mom, Dad, Keanu, Neo, Bagheera lol) are all well! Its nice to be in warm weather all year around here haha! Love and miss you all! Ive been unable to take any pics yet, but by the time our next P-day is i should have some. The temple is really nice here too! But have a great rest of the week! ELDER Fesolai
Hey Mom and Dad!
So I'm in Ghana now! We arrived last night about 8pm. Have met President Heid and his Wife. They are great. New comp and trainer is Elder Hatch. Hes an American! So this is just an email to say we arrived. P-day is on Mondays. I think were 10 hours behind Australia. Today is just orientation into the field and getting residency stuff cleared. The people are so great, the humidity is real and honestly it reminds me of Bali alot lol! Love yous!
It's Elder Fesolai's first official day in Ghana Accra. We received his 1st letter. Here it is. ENJOY!
I guess our Trip to Bali really paid off. Glad we got to meet Tommy and Iyan. Bali was a great eye opener, the weather, meeting the locals and eating and seeing for myself how they lived. It obviously set the scene and probably gave me a taste of what Ghana would be like. Good memories and Good times. Here are some pics from my Bali Trip April 2015.
